1. What We Collect
- Email address, display name, and handle
- Password stored as a one-way bcrypt hash
- Posts, replies, likes, and follows you create
- Terms-of-Service consent records with timestamp, IP address, and browser info
- Post content analyzed by AI safety systems for transparency scores
- Request metadata processed by Sentinel for bot detection
2. How We Use Your Data
- Operate and improve the Candor platform
- Authenticate identity and protect accounts
- Process content through AI safety systems per the Terms of Service
- Provide reach analytics via Beacon
- Comply with legal obligations
3. AI Safety System Data
Post content is sent to the Claude Haiku API (Anthropic, Inc.) for safety scoring. Anthropic does not retain post content for model training under our agreement.
Safety scores are stored in the database and shown as transparency information. Safety data is never used for advertising or commercial sales.
4. Data Sharing
- Infrastructure providers (Fly.io, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, Netlify): process data for platform operation.
- Anthropic API: post content sent for safety scoring without personal account information.
- Legal requirements: disclosures made under valid legal process or good-faith harm prevention.
- Child safety: we are required by law to report CSAM to NCMEC.
5. Your Rights
- Access and download your data from account settings
- Delete your account, with personal data removal within 30 days
- Export your posts in JSON format
6. Children’s Privacy
Candor is not directed to children under 13. Users aged 13–17 require parental consent. The Gateway provides additional protections for younger users.
